, a module of the HumGen website (www.humgen.umontreal.ca), is a research database of international, regional and national normative instruments concerning the socio-ethical and legal aspects of stem cell research and related therapies. It was created as a free tool for the dissemination of information relevant to policy-making, the goal being to make the information accessible to as many people as possible without geographic or cost barriers.
A unique feature of StemGen is the STEM CELL WORLD MAP, which describes the policy approaches adopted in over 50 countries. Other important features of StemGen are the LITERATURE and FAQs sections.
